SRAM saw the opportunity to make a better press fit system where all the best from BB30 and PressFit bottom brackets would be combined into one captivating package. Pressfit 30 will feature an integrated seal, pre-assembled into the cups, to further prolong bearing life. The key difference with Pressfit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups which will be pressed into the frames bottom bracket shell. This bottom bracket is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. Frames will need a 46mm inner-diameter bottom bracket shell to accommodate this system. This CeramicSpeed BB86 Bottom Bracket works with cranks that have 24mm spindles, including both Shimano and FSA. CeramicSpeed standard Bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That represents an average 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. The EVO386 standard is designed for oversized spindles. CeramicSpeed's kit for Shimano allows you to install Shimano or FSA cranks with 24mm spindles. The cups come with CeramicSpeed Bearings installed. Both CeramicSpeed Standard and Coated Bearings are available. Both utilize super smooth CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The latter has an additional metallic coating on the races to further smooth and harden the steel, further increasing life and lowering drag. The design of overlapping cups extending through the shell for EVO386 reduce the likelihood of creaking and increase the reliability of the system. The CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings feature an average drag reduction of 75% compared to stock bottom brackets. That translates into frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set, which is the result of great design, hardened-steel races, and ceramic balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. The CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings are a step up as they reduce drag by 50% compared to our Standard Bearings and an improvement in bearing life by 60%.
